How do we consume media? Information Online Word of mouth Information: Finding out about relevant events and condition in immediate surroundings, society and the world. Seeking advice on practice matters or opinion and decisions choices. Satisfy curiosity and general interest.  Personal identity: Finding reinforce for personal values Finding models of behaviour  Identify with valued others( in the media) Gaining insight into ones self  Entertainment: Escapism, or being diverted , from problems. What’s meant by the term ‘audience needs’? What's meant by the term 'audience needs'  Audience needs  may be wants, deficits, conditions, or other gaps between skills/knowledge  audiences   already have and those they want. Why do we consume certain types of media? We consume  different types of media for different purposes for example for entertainment. We watch TV shows such as the X Factor for enjoyment where as we watch other programmes such as the News for a knowledge purpose to get information about what is going on in the world. All the different programmes represent different genres and they all have a different meaning for why we consume them. Main stream- Large, An audience that consumes a product that appeal to a wide range of groups and cultures. From the first two seconds of the video , its filled with slow transition of the video . This is because she is talking about a sad topic of how she used to sing to her grandad. The camera then focuses on her to show how sad she is when she's thinking about it , this creates tension and makes the audience feel sorry and feel for her . The next part shows her looking into the camera , which shows emotion, this also shows how much it means to her to do well and succeed for her grandad as she wants to make him happy.

In the doctor who episode , The power of Three, misc- en- scene plays an important role in establishing a sense of character and mood. For example, in terms of costume, the doctor is represented as a character who holds a position of authority. This is demonstrated though his old-fashioned, formal appearance. He wears a bow tie , blue-grey shirt and tweed jacket. The doctors appearance creates a sense of timelessness , which reflects the fact that the show has been running since 1963.

  "The Cube comes to life " doctor who. Misc on scene- Everything involved in the show Costumes= The costumers are quite old fashioned and fit the genre of the show. Doctor who has been around for quite along time and they show this through the way they are dressed.(Bow tie) Facial expressions= There facial expressions are very serious, which shows the intensity of the show. This could make the audience more interested and foreshadow something bad might happen. Props= The props are quite specific and really suits the genre e.g clothes. Lighting= 3 point lighting- This type of lighting makes the object stand out and completely puts the focus on the object they are trying to exploited.

Technological convergace : Allows audiences to access media content from multiple platforms on one device. Involves the coming together of informations and communication technologies. Black box - A device that supplies us with all of our information and media requirements e.g an iPhone. The dot.com boom was a huge rise in the number of internet-based companies. During the first 3 minutes of The avengers age of ultron I noticed that many shot types were used like long shot and close up shot, the long shot in the first 3 minuets created tention in the movie due to there being a significant distance between the camera and the actor.
